Careers Talk

Jack from the careers team came to talk to us to let us know what they offer there so that we know what help we can get.

We got asked to go onto Menti to anonymously answer one question.

There was 7 for 'I have not decided what carrier I want to follow after I graduate'

6 for 'I have some general career ideas'

and 1 for both 'I have a career in mind' and 'I am already working in my chosen idea'.

He told us we are in the right place for not know what we want to do but with their help by the end of 3rd year we could all be 'I have a career in mind' and 'I am already working in my chosen idea'.

Jack then introduced the team.

• Becky - is good at helping with CV’s

• Sarah - is good for helping with getting a placement, she knows everyone so is good at networking

• Kamal - runs the agency, he's always looking for photographers, he will help with the invoices and the money side of being freelancing. He'll put students in a file and when a client come sin he shows them the work if it suits the clients brief

• Laura - oversees the team

• Jack - able to book us in directly

• Paul - is a good business advisor, if you want to set up your own business he’s the person to talk to. He offers free consultation that would normally cost £200

The talk was really helpful as I wasn't aware of all the opportunities and help that was on offer and I plan of making the most of it to help me develop my skills
