Cody William Smith‘s work varies from portraiture to landscape, he has a serious appreciation for the natural scenery in California and Nevada, especially the mountains, national parks, and coastlines.

His collection “A Moment’s Reflection” shows a different view on a few of the most astonishing natural locations by placing mirrors to create amazing reflections, creating a unique perspective on landscape photography.

The use of the mirror makes me study and appreciate the landscape he is capturing more due to its unusual placement. The image on the right makes me think the mirror is a portal to a brighter sunnier version. But I don't think that is the meaning behind the photographs, I am not sure what the mirror is supposed to symbolise, if it is supposed to symbolise anything.

Hannah Starkey's photographs delve into the physical and psychological connections between her personal and everyday urban surroundings. She's generally work with women as her subjects since the begging of her career. Her images are very clean and clear with strong colour association making you think further into the image.

I have found this image very inspiring for my project I like the use of the mirror and how the lady in blue is so entranced by her own reflection, she is studying the reflection like she doesn't recognise herself and the way she is touching it also backs this up. I wonder what she is actually thinking. I like the how the lady in the in the left hand corner is staring at her in such confusion, it adds a little bit of humour to the image. The colours in the image are very muted making the lady in the blue stand out even more.

Kim’s project 'Street Errands' is a series of juxtaposed mundane scenes she finds in New York with scenery from outside the city. "As much as I loves the city, I miss being in nature" it is her "own form of surreal escapism by manipulating images produced from mundane encounters".

Currently Kim is unable to travel out of the country due to her visa status so her photos are her means of escape, her images are liberating as they are free from rules and limitations.

She used to really heavily use photoshop but she has noticed as her work has progressed her work has become "more refined and have subtle touches on Photoshop, compared to the beginning stage"

This is one of my favourite images of hers I love the colours and as they feel so dream like to me, they are also very calming. I like the blotchy pattern of the projection as it adds to the dream like feel. I am not sure if she edited this on photoshop or used a projector but when I look at the image I believe it to be a projection that is disappearing.
