In a group crit session we came up with the idea of cracking a mirror and photographing someone in it and replacing some of the shards of mirror with a different image, representing a dream.
I think this shoot went better than the first one but I am still not very keen on it I think I ned to try a few more angles with the mirror and be closer to the mirror, as I was doing self portrait it was difficult to get the right angle of me in the mirror. This was only an experiment to see if the idea worked - I think it worked well enough for me to try it with other people. I am going to talk to them about their dreams and try and replicate something similar and place it in the cracks in the mirror.

To my surprise I found it difficult to crack the mirror, I thought it would have broken easily but no. Once I managed to finally crack it, it cracked a little too much. Meaning I had to carefully take all the pieces out of the frame and get rid off the tiny bits of mirror that were too small todo anything with. After that I had to carefully stick the rest of the mirror back together, this slowed the shoot down a lot, putting the shoot behind schedule. I am glad this was only a test shoot as I did end up rushing it a little bit as I was renting equipment that had to be returned early the next day. Next time I will make sure I have time for something to go wrong when renting equipment so I don't end up feeling so rushed.
I decided that the images I added in stood out too much so I desaturated them a little bit to, this also makes it look more dream like as most dreams aren't very vivid.
I think when I redo this shoot I am going to get the model to position themselves in a more realistic position for being asleep, I think it is hard to get the idea that I am dreaming as I am sat so up right. I am also not going to take so much of my reflection away in the mirror as you can now barely see my face.
