I chose to look into dreams as I wanted to do a project about dreams as people overlook how weird yet wonderful dreams can be. Everyone dreams every night for roughly two hours and as much as 95% of dreams are forgotten quickly after waking up. The purpose behind dreams isn't know but it is suspected to help process emotions. People often say that our dreams are reflection of our true thoughts and feelings which is one of the reasons I chose a mirror to be part of this project. The main idea behind the mirror is that it is acting as a portal to the dream and the cracks represent how fragmented peoples memories are of their dreams; hence why you can only see their reflection in the mirror. The coloured lights depict their feeling in their dreams.

I chose to add song lyrics as they add more emotion therefore adding more context to the image.

In 'Photography: The Key Concepts' by David Bates he stresses the importance of thinking about things helps us communicate what it is we are trying to get people to engage with; it helps us find a way through our thoughts.

'We need theory when there is a problem to be dealt with and an existing mode of thought cannot deal with it.'

Writing down my theory is always something I've struggled with as I'm not very good at articulating my thoughts. I've a tried a lot harder in this project to write it down as its developing throughout my project. Doing this has helped me figure out my thoughts as I've been able to look back at what I've previously said.
